We at GUS are very proud to offer a wide selection of auction items - fishing adventures & tackle, art, casting lessons, collectibles, books, flies etc - and we think & hope that there will be something that suits everyone. Em again! 10-11th of April We offer 2 days fishing for 2 rods at the private Emsfors beat with a comfortable self catering stay at the Villan lodge. Here you can wake up with a big fish showing on the tail at the famous Villastrommen pool, 20 meters from your bed. Emsfors is a 2 rod beat, approx 10 km on both sides. Last year the beat produced 114 sea trouts and 10 salmons. Closest airports are Oskarshamn and Kalmar. Consider to make bids on all the Em fishing on the auction. Mörrum in April Can you hear all the spring birds or is it just the splash from a big fish that catches your ear? River Mörrum in the southern part of Sweden is not for the fainthearted. The Salmon & Sea Trout run seriously huge so take the strongest nylon you have. Here is 1 guided day for 1 rod on this famous river in April 2010 on the steak. The guide is Magnus Hammarström who knows the river intimately. Magnus will also arrange lunch and 1 overnight stay and provide the guest with fly tackle if necessary. Guided Sea Trout fishing in Denmark In the north of Sjælland, there is a little place called Kikhavn. It is a well known place among the locals for excellent sea trout fishing in spring, autumn and winter as well, because of its location very close to the inlet. Big schools of sea trout passes this area, therefore the fishing are often outstanding. Both rods will be guided by fly fisher Mark Wengler. They will get a thorough insight in how to approach the sea trout fishing, down to the smallest detail. The accommodation will be at Café Kikhavn, a very charming and high standard B&B, inclusive breakfast. The B&B is positioned 50 m. from the fishing area, and the fishing will typically take place from dusk to dawn. This package for 2 rods includes 2 days guided fishing. The river will be shown by one of the members. Idsjöströmmen with Lars Åke & Jennifer Ohlsson Idsjöströmmen is a fly-fishing only, catch-and-release, wild grayling and trout river. This one-mile section of the sixty-mile-long Gim River is nestled in the heart of Sweden's forest country, 1.5 hours south/east of the city of Östersund in Jämtland. George Lundwalls Darter reel with serial number 1 Who is George Lundwall? George comes from the beautiful island Gotland. He keeps a low profile, not even a webpage at the moment, but his reels are astonishing and it wouldn’t be surprising if he soon is recognized as a craftsman of the highest standard. He started making reels around in the1980´s for himself and some lucky friends. His production of exclusive reels is small. This lovely 4-6 line reel is his first made (serial number 1) from the Darter series. It’s never used! It has lovely details and gives an overall elegant impression. The reel is left handed wind. S-style, counterbalanced handle with knob made of Buffalo horn. Black side plates made of bakelite and silver spool, reel foot and frame in aluminium, and a handle of stainless steel. Freight is to be paid by the buyer. Constable of Bromley This interesting English rod builder made some fantastic cane rods around the 70ties. He had a small production and made different types of rods suiting most from trout in chalk streams to salmon in the big rivers. This rod “The Executive by Constable of Bromley England” is a 13 footer with a weight at 545 grams and numbered 975. It’s a 3 piece rod with 2 tips and, best of all, never used. It has spent its days (approx. + 30 years) in the original sack. The cane is lovely honey-coloured and the whippings red. Freight is to be paid by the buyer. A box for the connoisseur... Vom Hofe, Bogdan and Payne are all well known craftsmen of the highest standard. In Sweden we have an unbelievable skilful maker of fly boxes - Lars Andersson from Katrineholm. This "special" is made from beautiful curly-grained birch tree on the top and bottom, with walnut on the sides. The foam on one of the half’s will hold about 100 salmon flies, plus 58 tubes on the pins on the other (Also a safe place to have a cigar or two ready for the favourite pool). The brake system is a reliable one – traditional click-check and non adjustable. “Cairnton Junior” by Farlows If this 12 footer from Farlow´s is the junior I just wonder how the senior was. Could Mr Wood and the other fishermen at Cairnton on the Dee really fish it with one hand? Someone told me that this “Junior”, which is in very good condition, is a quite unusual canerod.
