Gustaf Ulfsparre's Foundation's (GUS) Collection

The GUS collection is a unique sport fishing historic inheritance. The collection contains
items such as; photo albums, catch/fishing journals, fly fishing equipment, art, trophies,
litterature and also other objects. It spans over a long time from the early 1900 hundreds to
modern time. Mainly this is an inheritance from Gustaf Ulfsparre and Göran Ulfsparre. A large
part of the collcetion has, over the years , been donated by important guests , among who we
find for example; Crossley, Barrett, Beddington, Greenway, Prince Axel, Prince Wilhelm,
Charles Ritz, Olle Törnblom, Theodor Ankarcrona, Bengt Berg, Svend Saabye, Svend Drews,
van Hauen, Rolf Smedman, Lars Edstrand and many others. GUS members work to preserve
this collection and also to increase it, the collection is shown after appointmment with GUS.
Examples of contents; All catch/fishing journals from 1924-2005, Gustaf & Margareta Ulfsparre's
photo album, Mrs Illum-Berg's skin mounted sea trout trophy, flyrod Pezon et Michel "Parabolic
Grilse" 10,6' (donated by hotel owner Charles Ritz and one of Gustaf Ulfsparres favorite rods),
flyrod Arjon "Em Special " 12,6' (designed for Em), fly cabinet in mahogany Hardy "Unique
Salmon Fly Cabinet" (No. 28) with it's leather cover ( Auction firm Southebys in London sold
a similar cabinet for around £7000,00 in year 2001), Em flies, and several original flies, fly reel
Hardy "perfect" 3 ¾" (specially built for Jim van Hauen), fly reel Hardy "perfect" 4" (Gustaf
Ulfsparre), Prince Axel's fishing knife (pocket version) English with hook scale, plier, scissor,
hook release and more, Mr Gavin Clegg's wading staff make Hardy "Orchy" (photo; page
104 in the book "Emån"), Litterature by authors such as; Crossley, Barrett, Greenway, Nall,
Rennie, Ritz, Saabye, Lidman, Färnström, Hemmingway, Hammarström, Aho, Ekman and many
others, works of art by Svend Drews and Jeppe Drews, Gustaf Ulfsparre, Smedman, Gerell and
other artists.
